The Concept of 'Simon's and co.'

私たちが提案する商品の殆どは「日本製」です。
私たちは「質が良く、なおかつ作り手が感じられる商品を提供し」、「敷居が低く、何らかの形で愛される」お店を目指しております。

かつて、第二次大戦後の日本は「世界の工場」でした。しかしながら７０年代後期には、既に日本は有る程度の経済発展を成し遂げており、生産に於ける多々の工程を海外、特にユーラシア大陸に移転させました。
同時に、国内に残った工場は酷い状況に直面しました。国内で仕事を続けて行く選択肢も余り多くは有りませんでした。今までより安い価格で仕事を受けるか、工場を国外に移転させるか、工場を畳んでしまうか。
数少ない生産者はニッチに対する商品の生産に切り替えたり、またはとても高品質の製品を製造し、それらは国内のみではなく海外でも販売されるに至りました。

80年代から今日まで、私たちは沢山の熟練工と彼らの持つ技術を失って来ました。何故なら、彼らが生計を立てて行く事が困難になってしまったからです。

少し遅いのかも知れませんが、まだチャンスは有ると信じる事とします。
上述の様な理由で、私たちは「日本製」を提案致します。


The items that we offer you are almost 'made in JAPAN'.
Our goals are 'Offering the products those make you feel ' high in quality and also the craftsmanship ' and  'Our shop should be easy to stop by and adorable in some way' .

Once JAPAN became a 'the world's factory' after WW2 . But late 70's , JAPAN had already developed in some extent and put so many processes of manufacturing outside JAPAN , especially in 'The continent' .
At the same time , the factories in JAPAN faced with tremendous crisis . There were just few choices that they could keep their business in this country .They should've make products in lower price than before or export their factories outside JAPAN or just quite their businesses .
Very few could adopt themselves in an unique way by making products for niche market or making extremely high-quality products those were sold not only in JAPAN.

From 80's till today , we have lost so many matured craftsmen and their techniques Cos' they couldn't make enough money to make their ends meet .

It may be a bit late . But there will be a chance whenever you believe in .
This is the reason why we offer you 'made in JAPAN'.
